This Orange creamsicle ice cream is what’s sweet summer dreams are made of. A delightful combination of orange and vanilla in a bowl that’s ready in minutes. The only thing you need to do is wait for it to freeze which is that hardest.
Mix condensed milk, orange flavored gelatin, pinch of salt, vanilla extract and a drop of orange food color if using.
Stir till well combined and gelatin is mostly dissolved. Set aside and proceed to the next step.
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Gradually pour in the sweetened condensed milk mix. Fold it into whipped heavy cream until well combined.
If desired, add another drop of orange food coloring to enhance the orange color of the ice cream. Mix until the color is evenly distributed.
Pour the ice cream into a loaf pan or airtight container, smoothing the top with a spatula then cover top of ice cream with cling film ensuring that it touches the surface of the ice cream.
Cover the tightly and place it in the freezer for up to 6 hours or overnight, allowing the ice cream to firm up.
Once frozen, scoop the orange creamsicle ice cream into bowls or cones, garnish with orange slices or zest, and serve.
